One person has died while five others sustained injuries during in a stampede after beggars struggled for Ramadan gifts in Katsina on Saturday.

Security operatives had cordoned off the premises of the house of the businessman, where the incident happened.

Two police vans and some armed policemen were seen at the main entrance of the house on Sunday.

The Punch reports that a senior police officer has confirmed the incident
