To mark the 2021 World Photography Day, members of the Photojournalists Association of Nigeria (PJAN) Lagos Chapter has pencilled down three renowned journalists to speak at its forthcoming Lecture organized to mark the Day on August 21.

The three renowned journalists will be speaking on the topic “Photojournalism: What the future portends for Photojournalism Practitioners”.

The Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr Ademola Akinlabi stated that the speakers were carefully selected as regards their years of experience in the field of journalism.

The first Guest Speaker, Mr Dayo Adedayo, is a British trained Documentary Photographer, a cultural anthropologist and author of the book “Nigeria 2.0” who has travelled wide and far in the space of 17 years. He will share his wealth of experience as a Documentary Photographer during the event.

The second Guest Speaker, Mr Lekan Otufodunrin is a renowned Media Career Development Specialist. Otudodurin, who is presently the Executive Director, Media Career Development Network and Nigeria’s foremost media mentoring and coaching specialist is bringing over 30 years’ experience to speak at the event.

The third speaker is the Director of International Press Centre (IPC), a media resource centre, at Ogba, Lagos, Mr Lanre Arogundade an online Editor-in-Chief, will also be speaking at the Lecture.

Arogundade will share his wealth of experience in the areas of media advocacy, media research, media training and editing of media resource books with the participants that will be attending the event.

Invited guests expected at the event are the Chairman, Lagos Union of Journalists (NUJ) Lagos Chapter, Mr Adeleye Ajayi and the Chairman, Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Lagos Chapter, Mrs Comfort Okonkwo.

Other activities planned to mark the 2021 World Photography Day include a group walk from the Ogba bus stop to the venue of the lecture located at International Press Centre (IPC) at 11, Dideolu Estate, Ogba, Lagos, a photo exhibition and a street group photo paparazzi.
