AIG Zone 2, AIG Olorundare Jimoh decorates newly promoted ACPs, calls for professionalism, discipline

The new Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Zone 2 Command, Lagos, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has decorated newly promoted officers and charged them to uphold professionalism, discipline, and hard work in the discharge of their duties, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report.

Speaking during the decoration ceremony held at the Zonal command headquarters, Jimoh congratulated the six senior officers recently elevated to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), describing their promotion as a reward for merit, consistency, and dedication to service.

He commended the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Police Service Commission for a transparent and performance-based promotion process, which had further strengthened morale within the force.

According to him, the elevation of the officers from Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) to ACP reflects years of commitment, operational excellence, and loyalty to the ideals of policing in Nigeria.

AIG Jimoh urged the newly decorated ACPs to see their promotion not as a reward for comfort, but as a call to greater responsibility in ensuring effective policing, crime prevention, and maintenance of public order within Zone 2, which covers Lagos and Ogun.

He stressed the need for strict adherence to professional ethics, warning that the expectations of the public and the police leadership had significantly increased with their new ranks.

The AIG assured that his administration would continue to prioritise merit, discipline, and capacity building, while strengthening accountability across all levels of command.

He also reaffirmed the commitment of Zone 2 Command to supporting the broader objectives of the NPF in delivering improved security services to residents.

The promoted officers are: ACP Abel Ademola, ACP Aderonke Bakare, ACP Olusola Knight, ACP Raji Ganiyu, ACP Iliazu Mohammed Lawal and ACP Samuel Ijachi.

The newly promoted officers expressed appreciation for the recognition and pledged to justify the confidence reposed in them through improved performance and dedication to duty.
