DEFENCE MINISTER CALLS FOR CONTINUED NATIONAL SUPPORT FOR TROOPS AS HE RECEIVES PASTOR LAZARUS MUOKA

The Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd.) OFR, has reaffirmed the critical role of moral support and national unity in strengthening the resolve of the Armed Forces of Nigeria in the ongoing fight against insecurity across the country.

The Minister stated this when he received the General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, on a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Defence Headquarters, Abuja.

General Musa noted that the fight against insurgency, banditry, terrorism, and other forms of criminality requires a whole-of-society approach, stressing that the prayers and encouragement from religious bodies continue to boost the morale of troops deployed in various theatres of operation nationwide.

The Defence Minister expressed appreciation to Pastor Muoka and members of the church for their sustained prayers and unwavering support for Nigeria’s security institutions. He emphasized that the Armed Forces remain committed to defending the nation’s territorial integrity and safeguarding the lives and property of all Nigerians.

General Musa further called on religious leaders across the country to continue promoting peace, unity, patriotism, and national cohesion, noting that faith-based organizations have a strategic role to play in fostering harmony and supporting national security efforts.

In his remarks, Pastor Muoka assured the Honourable Minister of the church’s continued support for the Armed Forces and the Federal Government. He offered prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, asking God to grant him wisdom, strength, good health, and the capacity to lead the nation towards greater peace, stability, and economic prosperity.

The cleric also prayed for divine protection and victory for Nigerian troops, as well as lasting peace across all parts of the country.

The visit featured the exchange of souvenirs and reaffirmed the commitment of both the Ministry of Defence and the Christian community to continued collaboration in advancing national peace, unity, and security.
