The Lagos State Police Command in partnership with the Engr. Dave Umahi-led Ministry of Works to activate a CCTV Surveillance Centre in a bid to enhance security across Lagos Island and its environs.
The facility, according to a statement made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), was built and fully equipped by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Ministry of Works under the supervision of Engr. Dave Umahi.
The statement noted that the facility “provides real-time monitoring of the Third Mainland Bridge, surrounding waterways, and key island locations to proactively prevent crime and protect lives and property.”
Additionally, two operational vehicles were presented to the command by the Ministry.
“The Centre, which also serves as Control Room 5, operates round the clock with well-trained officers, to ensure swift intelligence-led response,” the statement added.
