Widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s foremost legal minds, Dr. Ubani has, over the years, built an enviable reputation as an advocate of justice, constitutionalism and the rule of law, while also making significant contributions to nation-building, professional development and Christian leadership.
Reflecting on the occasion of his birthday, the legal icon attributed every milestone in his life and career to the abundant grace, mercy and faithfulness of Almighty God, expressing profound appreciation for the privilege of serving both God and humanity through diverse platforms.
His distinguished career within the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has been characterised by impactful leadership. He previously served as Chairman of the NBA, Ikeja Branch, Vice President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Chairman of the NBA Section on Public Interest and Development Law (NBA-SPIDEL), and currently chairs the NBA Electoral Reform Committee, where he continues to champion reforms aimed at strengthening the integrity of the legal profession.
Beyond the Bar, Dr. Ubani serves as Legal Adviser to the President of the Senate, Sen. Godswill Akpabio; Assemblies of God Nigeria, while also providing legal guidance to several corporate organisations and charitable institutions. His emergence as the first Senior Advocate of Nigeria from Ikwuano in Abia State remains a source of pride and inspiration to many young lawyers across the country.
Outside the courtroom, Dr. Ubani is equally recognised for his unwavering commitment to the Christian faith. A devoted Deacon in Assemblies of God Church, Nigeria, Kingdom Ambassador and respected Clasfonite, he has consistently demonstrated servant leadership within the Church. As a former President of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International, Allen Executive Chapter, he recorded a remarkable milestone by pioneering the establishment of two new fellowship chapters in a single day.
