The protracted dispute between controversial Nollywood actress Doris Ogala and Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries, took a dramatic turn on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, when the actress was remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Facility in Lagos pending a bail hearing.
Ogala, who is also the African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate for Abia State in the 2027 election, was remanded following her arraignment before the Federal High Court in Lagos. The order was reportedly issued by Justice A. Aluko over charges arising from her alleged defamation of the popular minister of the Gospel.
The case, it would be recalled, attracted considerable attention months back, particularly because of her explosive allegations which Pastor Chris denied.
Their disagreement reportedly escalated after the handsome pastor announced plans to marry another woman, triggering a bitter public fallout that spilled onto social media.
In the course of the dispute, Ogala made several serious allegations against the cleric, claiming that their relationship had caused her considerable emotional distress. Okafor, however, disputed her claims and, through his legal representatives, accused her of making false and malicious statements capable of damaging his reputation.
Unwilling to let the allegations go unchallenged, the pastor took the matter to court, setting the stage for a legal battle over the claims made against him.
The latest charges reportedly include cyberstalking, cyberbullying, harassment, dissemination of false information and attempted extortion.
According to the prosecution, Ogala allegedly published intimate photographs and other personal materials relating to Okafor without his consent. She was also accused of circulating information intended to damage his reputation and threatening to release further damaging material unless she received compensation or a house.
Ogala pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Following her plea, her lawyer applied for bail, but the prosecution requested time to respond to the application. The court subsequently ordered that she be remanded in custody pending the hearing of her bail application.
A video circulating online showed the actress making further allegations against other men of God shortly before she was taken to the correctional facility, adding another layer of controversy to an already sensational case.
The development marks a significant escalation in a dispute that has moved beyond social media exchanges into the courtroom – with all eyes on Ogala for proof.
