Enugu State Forest Guard Commandant, Dr. Akinbayo Olasoji Felicitates IGP Disu, Lauds Reforms and Security Leadership

The Commandant of the Enugu State Forest Guard and retired Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dr. Akinbayo Olasunkanmi Olasoji, has extended warm felicitations to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on the occasion of his birthday, commending his visionary leadership and impactful reforms since assuming office, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report.

In his birthday remarks, Dr. Olasoji, who retired from the Nigeria Police Force with decades of operational experience and innovative policing engagement, described the IGP as a forward-thinking law enforcement leader whose tenure has been marked by renewed focus on professionalism, discipline, and intelligence-led policing. He particularly praised Disu’s advocacy for state policing, noting that his position reflects a deep understanding of Nigeria’s complex security architecture and the need for localized, responsive policing systems.

The Commandant further highlighted the IGP’s strong stance on discipline and internal accountability, describing it as a necessary step toward restoring public trust in the Force.

According to him, Disu’s emphasis on ethical conduct and operational standards is gradually reshaping institutional culture. “IGP Disu has demonstrated foresight, courage, and a deep commitment to reform. His leadership continues to inspire confidence in Nigeria’s security framework,” Dr. Olasoji stated.

Dr. Olasoji also pointed to notable milestones under the IGP’s leadership, including the strengthening of intelligence-driven operations, improved community engagement strategies, and the restructuring of tactical units to enhance efficiency and curb excesses. These reforms, he noted, have contributed to more coordinated and effective responses to security challenges nationwide.

He wished the IGP continued strength, wisdom, and success in his mission to build a more professional and accountable Police Force.
