Following the notification received from the Federal Ministry of Works on the reconstruction of Apapa/Oworonshoki Expressway, the Lagos State Government has released a diversion plan for a duration of 56 nights from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am daily.

A statement signed by the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, said the construction schedule indicated that traffic will be diverted at the Oworonshoki/Alausa axis for Foam Bitumen Laying and Asphalt works.

He explained further that during the asphalting process for both lanes of the road, a section of the lane (inbound or outbound) will be left free for motorists to utilise for minimal inconveniences, adding road signs and lightings will be placed at strategic places to aid movement.

Oladeinde also assured that signage with information on traffic directions will be hoisted by the Federal Government on the outbound carriageway to Ibadan and inbound carriageway to Lagos to guide motorists on movement during the construction period.

While expressing his gratitude to the citizenry for their understanding and patience despite the several construction projects ongoing across the State, the Transport Commissioner appealed to Lagosians to continue to cooperate and support the effort of the government for the successful completion of all the projects.
