FRSC BEGINS TRAFFIC CALMING ON THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE


 Following the crashes recorded on the newly refurbished and reopened Third Mainland Bridge, which have claimed lives of most of the victims involved leaving others which various degrees of injuries, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Corps Commander Patrick Davou, has initiated an operation on the bridge for speed calming. 
A statement by the Command’s Public Enlightenment Officer, Superintendent Route Commander Olabisi Sonusi, and made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), noted that the development will ensure conformity with speed regulation, adding that the deployment of personnel on the stretch of the road became imperative, having recorded spike in cases of Road Traffic Crashes attributed to speed violation.
The statement further disclosed that the exercise is in preparation for the deployment of digital speed radar guns to enforce Speed Limit.
“The exercise is continuous as it has recorded a modicum of positive results,” the statement concluded.
