The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Sylvester Abiodun Alabi, has said that detectives attached to the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department, on February 26, 2022 arrested a 26-year-old suspect, identified as Oluwatoyin Joshua killing her boyfriend, Olayinka Adebayo during a quarrel, which arose over disagreement on the sharing formula of N3000 given to them by a ‘good Samaritan’ murder.

The Commissioner, who was speaking through the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, at a briefing which was attended by the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) at the Police Command, Ikeja, Lagos said the victim was killed when the assailant used a kitchen knife on him during a fight.

“The suspect on the said day, stabbed the deceased, Olayinka Adebayo ‘m’ aged 27, to death with a kitchen knife while fighting over the sharing of three thousand naira given to them by a Good Samaritan.

“The incident happened at Ogunnaike Street, Shangisha, Lagos. The suspect is in police custody while awaiting legal advice from the DPP,” Alabi said.

Oluwatoyin has been remanded in custody while helping the police with investigations pending her arraignment.
