Radio Lagos/Eko FM is set to partner with the United States Consulate General, Lagos, to develop the capacity of its staff for enhanced performance through training and retraining, Exchange and Fellowship programmes, Grants and other areas of mutual benefit to both organisations.

The Public Affairs Officer, United States Consulate General, Lagos, Stephen Ibelli, while speaking during a courtesy visit by the General Manager, Radio Lagos/Eko FM, Mr. Jide Lawal, and members of his team said the US mission in Nigeria is committed to supporting initiatives that promote socio-economic development, media literacy and youth empowerment in the country.

Ibelli disclosed that the mission had supported about eighty percent of HIV/AIDs patients in Nigeria with antiretroviral drugs and helped in the eradication of wild polio as well as malaria treatment, adding that the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, also collaborates with Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Nigerian Navy to reduce financial and cybercrimes, as well as fight human trafficking.

Responding, the General Manager, Radio Lagos/Eko FM, Jide Lawal, sought the Consulate’s cooperation and continued support, noting that a cordial relationship with the Mission would further strengthen the broadcast stations in terms of programmes, news dissemination and international training opportunities that will enhance staff to performance.
