The Senate has rejected the confirmation of Lauretta Onochie as a National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Chairman of the Committee, Kabiru Gaya, in his report hasthat Onochie did not satisfy the provisions of the Federal Character Principles.
