As the July 24 Local Governments and LCDAs election draws nearer, the ruling All Progressives Congress in Somolu has innaugurate their campaign committee to oversee campaign activities of the party’s candidates.

Addressing the committee directors and members, the Chairman of APC Apex Leaders, Apostle Peter Oyewusi said the team must work unrelentingly to ensure they mobilize beyond party members to gather huge votes for the candidates.

The Chairman of the campaign committee is Hon. Oladosu Matuluko assured the party leaders that his team won’t let the party down as the Chairmanship and Councillorship elections will be won by APC throughout the eight political wards and all the polling units in Somolu. The Secretary of the campaign committee is the former Education Secretary of Somolu Local Government Education Authority, Hon. Michael Oikeh.

Meanwhile, other Directors in the Campaign Committee include Hon. Mrs. Omotanwa Salawu (Welfare), Hon. Mrs. Abiola Fashoro (Women Affairs), Alhaji Kabir Raji (Logistics & Protocol), Alhaji Hakeem Anifowoshe (Security), Prince Adeshina Adeeso (Mobilization), Oseni Owolabi ‘Ajimomuya’ (Media & Publicity) and Comrade Olalekan Fasasi (Youth & Students Affairs).

However, while the apex leaders of APC in Somolu reemphasized that the Chairmanship and Vice Chairmanship candidates of APC in Somolu is Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu and Hon. Adekunle Ekiyemi respectively, the eight Councillorship candidates of APC in Somolu were also shown to the hosted groups.

Among the interest group that the Somolu Chapter of APC Campaign Committee has hosted include Somolu Muslim Community, Christian Association of Nigeria, CDC/CDAs, market men and women, artisans, traditional leaders, National Youth Council of Nigeria, National Association of Nigerian Students, Nigerian Union of Teachers, Ndigbo Community, Arewa Community, South-Soutj Community, physically challenged people, widows, ATREN, NURTW, Association of Professional of Nigeria, United Non-Indigines among others.

Hon. Rotimi Olowo, Hon. Gbolahan Bagostowe, Engr. Abiodun Orekoya, Alhaji Babatunde Olaoluwa, Hon. Williams Lawanson, Hon. Yomi Olubamido, Alhaji F.A. Bakare, Hon. Ademola Olisa, Alhaji Matesun, Chief Mrs. Oluwole, Chief Success Adebayo, Alhaji Akewusure were among the APC leaders present at the innauguration and meeting of the interest groups.
