The public has been issued a strong warning over the activities of fraudulent WhatsApp groups operating under the name “Value Growth Club,” where unscrupulous individuals are impersonating respected corporate leader Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, in a bid to deceive unsuspecting participants and solicit funds.

In a disclaimer, it was categorically stated: “Members of the public are hereby advised to exercise extreme caution regarding WhatsApp groups operating under the name ‘Value Growth Club’, where individuals are impersonating Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, CFR, Chairman of Access Holdings, and invoking Gotham Capital to gain credibility and solicit participation.”

The statement further clarified, following independent verification, that: “Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede has no connection whatsoever to these WhatsApp groups or any related investment schemes. He has not created, endorsed, authorised, or participated in any group called Value Growth Club. He is not involved in any WhatsApp-based investment competition, trading group, or initiative linked to Gotham Capital or any similar platform.”

Describing the scheme in unequivocal terms, the notice emphasised: “These representations are false and misleading, and they are fraudulent impersonation.”

Authorities warned: “The public is strongly advised NOT to join these groups, NOT to send money, NOT to invest, and NOT to share personal or financial information with anyone claiming such affiliation. Please exit, report, and ignore these groups and help circulate this warning to others,” as efforts intensify to curb the growing wave of digital financial scams targeting Nigerians.
